Privacy Policy
How Fast Car Service collects, uses and protects your personal information — written plainly, because privacy documents shouldn't need a lawyer to read.
Who we are
Fast Car Service Ltd. ("we", "the shop") operates this website at fastcarservice.net and the service centre at 8015 118 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5B 0R8, Canada. Questions about this policy: fastcarservice@gmail.com or +1 604 327 8591.
What we collect
When you book a service or contact us, we collect what we need to do the job:
- Contact details — name, phone number, email address.
- Vehicle information — year, make, model, VIN if you share it, licence plate, service history.
- Visit and repair records — work performed, parts installed, photos taken during inspection.
- Website data — pages visited and basic technical information (browser, device), via cookies as described in our Cookie Policy.
Why we collect it
- To book and perform the services you ask for — diagnostics, repairs, estimates.
- To keep your vehicle's service history so we can maintain it properly over time.
- To contact you about approvals, updates and warranty-related notices.
- To meet legal obligations — invoicing, tax records, consumer protection rules.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising lists.
Who sees your data
Only the people who need it: our service advisors, mechanics and bookkeeper. Some of it travels through service providers we use to run the shop — booking and invoicing software, our email provider, payment processors. Each gets only what it needs and is bound by contract to protect it.
Your rights (PIPA and beyond)
Under Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act you may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask questions about how it's used. Write to fastcarservice@gmail.com — we answer within 30 days.
If you are in the EU/EEA or the UK and believe GDPR applies, the same request rights apply to you: access, correction, deletion and a copy of your data. See the GDPR section on our Legal Notice page for details.
How long we keep it
Repair records stay for as long as required by Canadian tax and consumer law (typically 6–7 years) — they also protect you in warranty claims. Contact form messages that don't lead to a job are deleted within 12 months.
Security
Repair records and contact details are stored in access-controlled systems; paper records are kept in a locked office. No system is bulletproof, but we limit what's collected, restrict who sees it, and review access regularly.
Children
Our services and website are intended for adults (18+). We don't knowingly collect information from minors.
Changes
If we update this policy, the new version replaces this page with a fresh date. Major changes get mentioned on the homepage for 30 days.
